Pretty drunk girl
with the dancing feet
is on the floor with gazelles
graceful and free
Pretty drunk girl
with the singing heart
is in the corner
with strangled cello voices and piano c(h)ords
barely breathing a part
Pretty drunk girl
with the stuffed-looking lips
is against the wall
a flower
in a pale thin slip
Pretty drunk girl
with the famished ears
is rising from a chair
transporting through
still air
Pretty drunk girl
with the frozen eyes
is in the skies
with powdered blue doves
and hushed cries
The pretty drunk girl
with the frozen eyes
lived to party
and
loved to die.
